The Borderride 400
Cycle the entire border between the Netherlands and Belgium in 1 or 2 days. A challenge not to be missed on your bucket list!
During this challenge, you will pass 10 checkpoints that also serve as stamping posts. A full card will earn you a name entry on our Xtreme Borderride 400 wall of fame. In addition, the first 10 riders with a full card (men and women) will be crowned border pole king and queen!
One Day Experience 75€
This is the longest 1-day ultra in the Netherlands. Experience the diversity and beauty of 3 different provinces. Zeeland with cobblestones, dykes and grassland. Brabant with forest, heathland, gravel and sand. Limburg with forest, gravel, the river Maas and Heuvelland. This year, the route has been renewed compared to the previous edition. For example, we ride a little more into Belgium to pass through the Hoge Kempen National Park. Bram's favourite gravel location. The route is 400km but that could be an extra 10. Free and for nothing!
We finish at campsite the Zinkviooltje at the foot of the famous Camerig. We are curious to see who manages to finish before midnight?
Two Days Experience. 155€
Want to take more time for this challenge? Then the 2-day challenge might be for you. We arrange a campsite halfway along the 410km route where we organise a BBQ in the evening and you can sleep in a tent provided by our organisation. The next day we serve breakfast and you cycle the second part of this adventure.
If you prefer to stay in a hotel, you can buy a day ticket and book your own stay wherever you want.
NEW: Participating as a relay team!
We are sometimes told that the distance of the Xtreme is too long for less trained cyclists, but we have a solution for that. Because you can also participate as a relay team of four, with each team member cycling 100 km!
At our checkpoints after 100, 200 and 300, you can swap team members to cover the complete Borderride 400 together. The only logistical challenge is arranging an extra driver to take your bikes and team members (who are not on bikes), from checkpoint to checkpoint.

Saturday night 1 day challenge
Sunday night 2-day challenge - Everyone drives with a GPS tracker so friends and family can follow you all the way along the border. It is also a tool to let us know which checkpoints you have passed
How to reach the start by public transport?
Take the train to Vlissingen and take the ferry from Vlissingen to Breskens. From there, it's not so far by bike to Cadzand.
After the finish and a good night's sleep at campsite 't Zinkviooltje, you can cycle to Kerkrade or Heerlen train station the next day.
New compared to the Xtreme
- Fixed new routes for both gravel and road.
- 10 stamping points and 3 care stations along the way.
- Camping at the finish line.
- Possibility to bring tent for the finish and luggage at the start.
- First 5 finishers from road and gravel will be crowned boundary pole king and boundary pole queen
- All finishers with full stamp cards will appear on the Wall of fame of the Borderride400
